About Dublin
Here are some videos to show you around Dublin.
Dublin is a bustling city, with a population of over 1.5 million, renowned for its Georgian and Modern architecture. It is Ireland's capital city, lying at the entrance to Dublin Bay. The River Liffey runs through the heart of Dublin. The city is renowned for the welcome it extends to all visitors. During the past decade, and as a result of the economic boom, the face of Dublin has changed dramatically. Several of its historical buildings have been restored and rejuvenated and it boasts some of the finest shopping centres in Europe
There is a vibrant night life in Dublin - it is internationally renowned for its theatres, cafes, bars, and its multicultural restaurants. It is a friendly and safe city with many fine art galleries, and museums. Up to the early 1990s the city had a long tradition of emigration. However, and again as a result of the economic boom, and the establishment of the IFSC (Irish Financial Services Centre) the city now attracts a large number of immigrants from several different countries. These immigrants are warmly welcomed and made to feel at home here. The nationalities who have made the city their home, include those from Europe, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Eastern Europe, Bangladesh, China, Korea, and India. Since Poland joined the European Union in 2004 several thousands of Poles have decided that Dublin is the place to be.
This city has something to offer everyone and can be rightly be defined as the core of excitement, life, and fun all rolled into one. There can be very few better cities anywhere in which to enjoy your time as a foreign student. The international student will feel at home here in this city and we extend to you a CÈAD MILE FAILTE (a hundred thousand welcomes). Welcome to DUBLIN AND TO EDEN.
