Super Intensive English Course

Introduction

This course is aimed at students who wish to progress at an accelerated rate or who need to reach a certain level of proficiency in a short period of time.

The core lessons are aimed at presenting new vocabulary and language structures and then providing students the opportunity to practise and develop this language. This course is ideal for students wishing to develop all areas of their language, as it allows for maximum exposure and teacher support. Extra lessons are offered in exam preparation and communicative English to allow students to consolidate and expand their language skills quickly.

Course Aims

Consolidate and expand key grammar knowledge
Undertake independent study
Increase awareness of and provide practice in International English language exams and format
Develop vocabulary for formal and informal situations as well as academic or professional language
Increase knowledge of Irish life and culture
Increase interaction with media in English (newspapers, radio and internet)

Course Content

Reading: developing skills across an extensive range of reading various texts

Writing: improving writing skills for various tasks and situations (academic, personal, professional)

Speaking: developing fluency and accuracy in conversational English; improving pronunciation at a word and sentence level; develop spoken presentation skills

Listening: understanding spoken English in a variety of contexts

Grammar: extending and developing knowledge of the English grammar system and practising key grammar points and usage

Media: interacting with newspapers, books, online media and social media through English
