International Diploma in Business (IDB)
This qualification is equivalent to year 1 of a 3 year UK honours degree / HE Level C (Certificate) or NQF Level: 4.
The International Diploma in Business (IDB) allows students obtain an internationally recognised business qualification that sets them on a path to successfully seeking employment in the growing world of business.
Entry Requirements
On entry a student must have at least one of the following:
- NCC Education International Foundation Year (IFY) qualification.
- An international qualification which is deemed to be of a similar level to the NCC Education IFY.
- At least one 'A' Level pass or an appropriate School Leaver's Certificate.
- Vocational experience which is deemed suitable by NCC Education.
- Completed a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in a similar area
Applicants whose first language is not English will need:
- The required minimum result in the NCC Education Higher English Placement Test (HEPT) or
- IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
Objectives
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of business and management, and an ability to evaluate them.
- Present, evaluate and interpret data, to develop lines of argument and make sound judgement in areas of business and management.
- Evaluate different approaches to business problem solving.
- Communicate results of studies / research effectively.
- Develop new skills relevant to the areas of business and management, including the development of skills to optimise employability.

- Business Communication
- eBusiness
- Fundamentals of Economics
- Introduction to Finance
- Marketing
- Organisational and Business Structures
- Essentials of Management
- Principles of Quantitative Methods
Assessment
Assessed through assignments and terminal examinations.
Academic Progression
Successful graduates of the International Diploma in Business are eligible to apply for the NCC Education International Advanced Diploma In Business.
Alternatively students are eligible to apply to enrol at one of the many universities who have granted articulation onto their degree programmes.
Careers Progression
IDB graduates can enter employment with enhanced skills and greater employability in areas such as Marketing, Management, Finance, Retail or Human Resource Management.

- George’s academic portfolio is evidence of a teacher who continually strives to develop and progress in his profession.
To accompany his E.L.T certificate, George holds H.Dips in TEFL and Linguistics and is currently reading for a Masters in TESOL. He has lived and worked in South Korea for seven years, teaching a broad spectrum of learners.
